As the name suggests, organic food is a type of food with all of its ingredients derived from animals or plants that have been produced organically. It covers, among other foods, poultry, meat, livestock feed, eggs, dairy products, legumes, grains, vegetables, and fruits. Typically, these foods do not contain any artificial additives, such as flavoring, coloring, preservatives, or sweeteners. Some of the benefits of eating organic foods include antioxidant content, antibiotic resistance, improved heart health, pesticide cutback, better taste, and a more robust immune system. Given these benefits and many others, it is not difficult to understand why more and more consumers are now shifting to organic foods.
